Context
Chronic diseases are on the rise, but their causes are not solely genetic. Air pollution, food, pesticides, noise, psycho-affective and socio-economic environments…
We are exposed to a multitude of environmental factors.
Understanding how these exposures affect our health is a major public health issue. By identifying avoidable risk factors, we can reduce them, prevent disease and improve our environment.
Objectives
The Institut ExposUM in Montpellier is developing interdisciplinary research to:
- Generate knowledge to better understand the combined and multiple impacts of environmental risks on human health.
- Apply this knowledge to develop solutions through collaboration between the research community, civil society and public players.
- Transmit knowledge and promote it to a new generation of scientists, through interdisciplinary and collaborative programmes.
3 million of health and environmental data analysed
7 pilot territories studied in Occitanie
