Why pass on your legacy to science?
Research is a long-term process, which needs time to explore, test, verify and innovate. If you choose to pass on all or part of your estate to the Fondation One Science Montpellier, you will be giving this time to science and to researchers in Montpellier. It’s also a great way of ensuring that your commitment to science lasts beyond your death. Discover the different ways of leaving a legacy to science!
Making a legacy gift
A legacy gift is a provision in your will that allows you to leave all or part of your estate to the Fondation One Science Montpellier after your passing, while respecting the rights of your heirs. As a foundation recognised as serving the public interest, the One Science Montpellier Foundation is exempt from inheritance tax: 100% of what you leave goes directly to scientific projects of general interest. There are several types of legacy gifts, which we can discuss and define together.

Leaving a Life Insurance Policy
A life insurance policy is a simple and flexible way to support research without changing your will, regardless of your family situation. You simply designate the One Science Montpellier Foundation as the beneficiary (in full or in part) of your policy. You retain the freedom to change your mind at any time. This gesture allows you to make a tangible impact on science while planning for the future in line with your values.

Making a donation
A donation allows you to give, during your lifetime, a movable or immovable asset, or a sum of money to the Foundation, immediately and irrevocably. It is a meaningful and impactful act, enabling you to see directly the effect of your commitment. Thanks to our Foundation’s status, donations are exempt from transfer taxes.

Making a gift in memoriam
Was your deceased loved one passionate about science, nature and the living world? You can choose to honour his or her memory by supporting science, through a one-off online donation or the creation of a collective fund. A gift in-memoriam is a gesture of homage, looking to the future. It enables you to keep alive the values held dear by the deceased, and to contribute to projects that are important to you.
